Summer Solstice is just around the corner. My family, friends, and I are double dosed/vaccinated. And I saw live music for the first time in over a year (due to the pandemic) this past week…plus, it was free!

Being the self-titled “Music Enthusiast” that I am, I jumped at Honey Latte Cafe’s Grand Opening Event, with a line up of free music, open to the community. It was a great way to spend a Thursday night!

This venue opened its doors and provides a unique atmosphere for guests of all ages.

On the evening I attended, the opening act was Motor Vue. I loved their appreciation of Fenders and tight sounds! It was a bit surprising to hear it was their first show. They are definitely worth a listen and I am eager to find out when their next show will be…

Following their set, Laundry played some mellow music that started with Female Lead Vocals. ❤ With the plethora of live musicians I have seen in my lifetime, I would describe their vibe to that of The Pixies, with a little bit of funky Black Keys beats mixed in. A true treat to hear and dance to!

Laundry The Band

I am thrilled to have live music back after COVID-19 lockdowns stole this from us. Prior to this event, the last show I went to in person was at the end of February 2020. It was definitely one of the things I’ve missed the most.

Thank you Honey Latte Cafe for giving us the space to enjoy live music safely.

If you are in or near Portland, Oregon be sure to check this venue out. Rock on!
