According to this Democracy Now report from January 24, 2017, “Trump also reinstated the controversial “global gag rule,” a Reagan-era policy that bans U.S. funding for any international healthcare organizations that perform abortions, advocate for the legalization of abortion or even provide information about abortions.”

In a more recent New York Post article (dated May 18, 2018), it states “The announcement came as President Trump was scheduled to speak at the Susan B. Anthony List’s “campaign for life” gala on Tuesday night. The group works to elect candidates who want to reduce and ultimately end abortion. It says it spent more than $18 million in the 2016 election cycle to defeat Hillary Clinton and promote a ‘pro-life Senate’. The Reagan-era rule barred family planning clinics from discussing abortion with women.”

This is absolutely outrageous!

As a Feminist, I strongly believe that a woman’s body and the choices she makes for her body are hers and hers alone. The government should have no say!

Back in March of this year, one month after a school shooting in Florida, I made a video stating that “Where I come from, women’s bodies are more regulated than guns.” This is becoming more and more true with the current administration and it makes me sick!

On Friday, May 18th another school shooting took place in Santa Fe, Texas. (https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/19/us/texas-school-shooting-victims.html)

In a report by CNN, “We’re only 20 weeks into 2018, and there have already been 22 school shootings where someone was hurt or killed.” (https://edition.cnn.com/2018/03/02/us/school-shootings-2018-list-trnd/index.html)

Such a shame! Why is so much energy exerted on protecting life of an unborn child instead of the students who are already living? Something to think about.
